Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, June 1st, 2023 – Boutique d’animaux Chico is pleased to announce the opening of a new franchise in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier. Already owners of two other stores in Quebec City, located in Charlesbourg and Sainte-Foy, the team of franchisees – Raphaële and Donald Gagnon, Pascale Chartier, Catherine Blouin and Josyane Laroche – is on a roll!
Helping animals is a priority
A lifelong animal lover, co-franchisee Raphaële fell in love with Chico for the first time a few years ago. The customer experience, centered on the well-being of the animals, as well as the diversity of the products offered, immediately charmed her.
In fact, almost all the animals available for adoption at the new store will come from the Quebec SPA and ALSA (Adoption lapins sans abri), and all the money raised from adopting an animal will be donated to the shelters.
“It’s very important for us to support animal shelters so that they have less weight on their shoulders. For us, the adoption process must be 100% ethical, and that’s why we decided to get involved with the shelters. Giving back to the community is one of our priorities!” Raphaële Gagnon, co-franchisee of Boutique d’animaux Chico in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier.
A passion for entrepreneurship
Guided by the long-standing experience of her parents, Donald Gagnon and Pascale Chartier, 27-year-old Raphaële is following in their footsteps. Surrounded by her childhood friends in the management of the three stores, they are aiming to open several other Chico pet stores over the next few years.
The adventure is just beginning for these ambitious young entrepreneurs!
