Montreal, Thursday, March 28, 2024 – Les Boutiques d’animaux Chico is pleased to announce the opening of the new Chico location on Sauvé Street West (Montreal) in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood. Alongside his partner and co-franchisee Annik Turcot, François Bernaquez is making a complete career change to embark on this new project within the customer service field!
A New Source of Pride
After over 25 years on the road as a worker, François is returning to his roots: retail, but this time with a pet store. Formerly the owner of a convenience store, he will reconnect with customers, but more importantly, with the company of little critters.
“I have always had cats and dogs, so when I heard about Chico and the opportunity to franchise with my partner, I jumped at the chance. I am truly excited to open my store; it’s a bit like getting a new home, and I am proud of it.“

Quality in the Details
Already aware of the high number of dogs in the area, they intend to add trash bins outside the store for disposing of pet waste and water bowls. A self-service dog wash will also be available to customers of the store. Lastly, since the store is located on the ground floor of a condo tower, they will offer customers the option to have heavy items delivered directly to their door.
