May 3 2022

Greenfield Park, Tuesday May 3, 2022  – Boutique d’animaux Chico is very happy to announce the opening of a new franchise in the Quebec City area, this time in Val-Bélair in Haute-Saint-Charles’ borough. Alongside his wife and his long-time sidekick, Richard Guay, Alain Simard is embarking on this new adventure after 28 years as a restaurant franchisee.

” Being clients of Chico ourselves, we saw the huge demand during the pandemic and had the idea to embark on this new project. It was essential for me to have Richard, with whom I have worked for 28 years now, by my side. In addition, the city of Val-Bélair is in full commercial growth

Customer service; a priority for nearly 30 years

After owning a few successful restaurants for many years, customer satisfaction has no secrets for Mr. Simard. The goal remains the same, but this time, instead of feeding humans, he will make sure to feed the customers’ animals.

An experienced duo

After 28 years as a kitchen manager in Mr. Simard’s restaurants, Richard Guay is embarking on this new adventure as a co-franchisee. His vast experience in quality management will ensure impeccable service for customers who visits the store.

A bit of history

The first Chico store was founded over 35 years ago in the Hochelaga neighbourhood. Today, the company has over 70 franchises in Quebec.

The Chico network experienced spectacular growth in 2008. Since then, many entrepreneurs with a passion for animals have chosen to join the Chico family by becoming franchisees. Boutiques d’animaux Chico is now the largest chain of neighbourhood pet stores in Quebec.
