the opening of a fourth store in Laval, this time in the Fabreville sector. This Chico adventure
will be led by franchisee Éric Birgentzlen. After discussing with his friend Stéphane
Larochelle (Chico franchisee in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac), he made the decision to join the
big family.

a good conversation with Stéphane that I was convinced. A week later, I met Pierre
Charbonneau and was quickly seduced by the idea. We have been looking at this space for
more than two years and are really happy to finally have it. ”

Éric will be supported by his oldest son, who will work full time at the store and by his
youngest son who will work there on weekends and during the summer. The franchisee
wants to create a family atmosphere for his customers so that they feel right at home in
their store.
A natural
With several years of experience in customer service at the Montreal Casino Security, where
human relations are essential, Mr. Birgentzlen knows how to adapt to different types of
customers. In addition, being from Laval, he knows the area and its population well.
A bit of history
The first Chico store was founded over 35 years ago in the Hochelaga neighbourhood.
Today, the company has over 80 franchises in Quebec.
The Chico network experienced spectacular growth in 2008. Since then, many
entrepreneurs with a passion for animals have chosen to join the Chico family by becoming
